Our Philosophy
Quartz is one of the most common minerals on Earth, yet it is never quite the same twice. A trace of iron turns it into violet amethyst; a touch of warmth makes it golden citrine; other elements give it the soft blush of rose quartz or the depth of smoky quartz. The stone is the same. What sets each one apart is what lies within.
We believe people are alike in many ways. Every learner has a distinct character and, with it, a distinct color. At Quartz Education, we don’t aim to shape everyone into the same stone, but to help each individual become the gem they are meant to be.
What We Do
No gem reveals its brilliance without careful cutting and polishing. For people, much of that polish comes from language. We truly shine when we can speak the language of the world we belong to, whether that world is a classroom, a research community, or a boardroom.
Quartz Education trains high school students, academics, and working professionals to command English at the highest level. We don’t stop at correct English. We aim for English that is precise, persuasive, and fully your own.
Our Programs
For high school students, we offer intensive instruction in the language-focused AP and IB courses, building the close reading, analytical writing, and argumentation these curricula demand.
For graduate students and researchers, we offer training in analytical thinking: how to frame a question, build an argument, and write with the clarity and rigor that scholarly work requires.
For professionals, we offer speaking training that helps you present, persuade, and lead with confidence in English.
We teach all our classes in small groups. Learning alongside peers sharpens your thinking, exposes you to new perspectives, and makes feedback a shared practice.
Our Founder: Andie Lee
For the past ten years, Andie has taught students at international schools across Asia and at public and private schools in North America and the UK, as well as CEOs and working professionals.
She spent her own school years at a private school in Canada and went on to study Arabic and Russian at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). Her love of language runs through everything she does. Quartz Education grew out of a simple conviction: no one should be kept from shining where they deserve to shine because of language.
